Spotlight back on the Inaugural Dan Murphy’s Southern Highlands Food and Wine Festival! 15 & 16 Sepember 2012
When a region is renowned for it’s award winning food and wine, hospitality and talent, it seems only fitting to host a festival to showcase all of the above!
Rain (and storms of cyclonic proportions) did indeed stop play when an attempt was made to launch the inaugural Dan Murphy’s Southern Highlands Food and Wine Festival back in March of this year, but organisers are optimistic that September will provide more favourable weather conditions and allow the Festival to get underway.
The Southern Highlands will stage the much anticipated Dan Murphy’s Food and Wine festival 2012 at Bong Bong Picnic Racecourse, Bowral from Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th September.
Just 90 minutes from Sydney and Canberra CBD’s, this two day event will welcome members of the public from the local Southern Highlands, adjoining NSW regions, Metropolitan Sydney and beyond to join the food and wine festivities on a grand scale for the first time in 2012.
President of Southern Highlands Food and Wine, Robert Kay comments, ‘We are delighted to be launching these festivities with the generous support of our sponsors and the cooperation of Southern Highlands Vignerons Association as well as Southern Highlands Harvest.’ He adds, ‘This event is very important in terms of ‘spot lighting’ the Southern Highlands Region, and allows the general public to experience what is to become the leading regional food and wine festival in NSW.’
Event Manager, Carla Offord of Southern Highlands Corporate Events adds, ‘We are so pleased that a festival of this theme and caliber is to premier in The Southern Highlands in September 2012. There is already a keen interest in tickets and the excitement is definitely building among our local contributors who will be taking part. This is definitely a showcase event for the whole family not to be missed and there will, no doubt, be plenty to learn, taste, savour and experience’
Gates open Sat 15th September 10am – 5pm and Sun 16th September 10am – 5pm .
