Australian Highlands
Wine Show

“Reaching New Heights”

Welcome to the inaugural Australian Highlands Wine Show proudly supported by our major sponsor Dan Murphy’s and others.  The show is co-ordinated by The Southern Highlands Food and Wine Association and will be held from 1st-2nd March 2012 at Bowral in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

This is the only Australian wine show exclusively for wines made from grapes grown at a minimum altitude. The show’s aims are to highlight the expressive nature, balance, subtlety and longevity often exhibited in wines grown in the cooler climates of Australia based on their higher altitude.

The wine growing regions with higher altitude sites have cool crisp nights and gentle warm days resulting in longer growing seasons and long maturation times, all combining to produce grapes and wines that exhibit crisp fresh characters, natural balance and elegance and often with an ability to appreciate with age.

An esteemed judging panel headed by Nick Bulleid, Huon Hooke and Christian Gaffey will judge wines from Australia’s well known as well as exciting new & emerging cool climate wine regions.

If you have an Australian vineyard above 500 metres in altitude and wish to enter your wine in the 2012 Australian Highlands Wine Show - visit the Entry Form page. The cut off for entries is 13th February 2012.

The Australian Highlands Wine Show will be followed on 3rd & 4th March by a major Food and Wine Festival which aims to promote Highlands food and wine producers to the public.

Wine Show exhibitors are encouraged to consider taking a stall at the Festival to promote their brand and region as well as sell wine to the public.
